Dave Reidy’s fiction has been published by Granta and other journals. His short story “The Regular” was chosen by Charles D’Ambrosio as winner of the Emerging Writers Network Short Fiction Contest.
Captive Audience, a collection of short stories about performers and Reidy’s debut book of fiction, was named an Indie Next Notable Book by the American Booksellers Association and published in French translation. Reidy’s novel, entitled The Voiceover Artist, was named a Top Fall Indie Fiction title by Library Journal and a Midwest Connections Pick by the Midwest Independent Booksellers Association.
Reidy’s non-fiction has appeared in South Side Weekly, Belt Magazine, and other outlets. His writing on housing in Chicago was a finalist for a Lisagor Award for Exemplary Journalism.
Reidy wrote the screenplay for the award-winning short film, Fitting Descriptions, directed by Tiffany Bedwell and John Mossman.
